Experience world-class snorkeling at Mnemba Atoll, one of Zanzibar's premier marine destinations. Discover vibrant coral reefs, swim among tropical fish, and enjoy a delicious seafood lunch on a beautiful beach.
8:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Pickup & Drive to Northeast Coast
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel. Enjoy a scenic drive to the northeast coast of Zanzibar (approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on your hotel location). During the drive, your guide will share information about Zanzibar's history, culture, and the marine life you might encounter.
9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Boat Preparation & Safety Briefing
Upon arrival at the beach departure point, your guide will provide a safety briefing and instructions for snorkeling. You'll be fitted with snorkeling equipment and board a traditional wooden boat (dhow) or motorboat for the journey to Mnemba Atoll.
10:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Snorkeling at Mnemba Atoll
Enjoy a 20-30 minute boat ride to Mnemba Atoll. Upon arrival, you'll have approximately 2 hours of snorkeling time in different spots around the atoll. The crystal-clear waters offer excellent visibility to observe colorful coral reefs and a variety of tropical fish. You might spot angelfish, parrotfish, clownfish, starfish, and if you're lucky, sea turtles or dolphins. Your guide will point out interesting marine life and assist less experienced snorkelers.
12:30 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch at Muyuni Beach
After snorkeling, the boat will take you to Muyuni Beach where you'll enjoy a delicious seafood lunch (vegetarian options available) prepared by local chefs. Relax on the beach, swim in the turquoise waters, or simply soak up the sun while your lunch is being prepared. Fresh fruits, bottled water, and soft drinks will be served.
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Beach Relaxation
After lunch, you'll have free time to relax on the beautiful white sand beach, swim, or take photos. Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided for your comfort.
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Return Journey
Board the boat for the return journey to the main island. From there, you'll be driven back to your hotel, arriving between 4:00-4:30 PM depending on your hotel location.
